Preseason: Michigan W, 1-1 (4-2 shootout) GOALS: Rosario Villagra (2nd this offseason),

Norfolk, Va. - Senior forward Rosario Villagra scored her first goal since being injured last spring, while also delivering the first shootout goal to lift ODU to a 4-2 penalty stroke win against Michigan from the L.R. Hill Complex. I think (don't quote me) the last time Old Dominion played against the Wolverines #BigBlue defeated #GoBlue 6-1 in the NCAA Tournament back in 2012 to advance to the Elite Eight. Villagra scored her second this offseason as she managed to score the first goal against William & Mary last spring. The Lady Monarchs travel Sunday to face Maryland in their final preseason matchup. ODU's last two games on the road against the Terrapins have come in stunning fashion as they upset the No. 1-ranked Terps both times (3-2 in 2013 and 2-1 in 2012)
*ODU was picked by the BIG EAST Coaches to finish second in the conference. Senior captains Kelsey Smither and Rosario Villagra (Preseason BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year) are unanimous first team selections.
